Sadio Mane has recently provided some insight into why he chose to swap Liverpool for Bayern Munich this summer.
Mane recently completed a £35million move to Bayern Munich for the Reds, ending his six-year stay on Merseyside.
Mane was one of the top wide players in the Premier League and he will no doubt be a massive miss for the Reds.
After making the switch to Munich, many fans and pundits questioned why Mane chose to leave Liverpool for a side such as Bayern Munich.
Now though, the winger himself has provided some insight into the situation.
And whilst he did not mention money or the fact he is probably going to win a lot more silverware with Bayern, he did state that the people of Munich are very nice which really impressed him:
“When I lived in Salzburg, I used to come to Munich regularly,” he said. “The people are very respectful and nice. This really impressed me and is important for me. The people have welcomed me, especially here in the club, which has given me extra motivation.”

Assessing how his first taste of training with his new employers went, Mane added: “It was really good! I enjoyed it and the other boys enjoyed it too. I’m very happy to be here. Today was our first day together and I’m very excited to start the season.
“I’d already met them as an opponent. Now we’re teammates and I’m glad to be able to get to know the boys. Some of them are only coming in the next few days – I’m looking forward to meeting them too and starting pre-season with them.”
