Ruben Neves prefers Barcelona over Man United move

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves would prefer a move to FC Barcelona and not Man United as earlier reported.

The Portuguese has been linked with a summer move from Wolves as he hopes to take his career to the next level and with Man United in the market to look for Paul Pogba’s replacement, his name has adversely been mentioned in the tabloids.

But according to SPORT, the 25-year-old prefers a move to Camp Nou over joining United with Barca in the market too for a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets. Apart from him, the Catalans have Aurelien Tchouameni and Martin Zubimendi as the other options.

The report claims that manager Xavi Hernandez would prefer Zubimendi, but Neves is seen as the most viable signing of the three, with the club legend giving the green light for the move.

Signing the Wolves player, however, might be tricky due to Barca’s financial demands with the club yet to offload some of their highest earners with Wolves set to demand a sum of €50 million for the player.

The player would want to play in the Champions League and it is a fact that locks Man United out of his signature with Barca willing to offer midfielder Nico Gonzalez and some cash to lure the player to Camp Nou.
