Richard Opokum handed starting role against Ivory Coast

Head Coach Samuel Paa Kwasi Fabin has announced his starting line up to face Ivory Coast on Friday afternoon at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The Black Starlets are vying for the 3rd place position with former WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship winners Cote D’Ivoire, after failing to book qualification to the final.

Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat to Burkina Faso on Tuesday in the semi finals of the Championship, denying the Starlets the chance in the grand finale.

Ahead of the epic encounter, head coach of the side Paa Kwasi Fabin has made few chances to his team  after recording two injuries in camp.

Skipper Collins Agyemang and Yakubu Adams failed to make the match day squad after picking up injuries in the last game against Burkina Faso.

Dennis Nyaaba who started in the game against Nigeria has secured a place for this afternoon game.

Attacking midfielder Richard Opokum will also start having enjoyed playing time as a substitute.

Defender Mohammed Rafique will lead the Starlets with the absence of Collins Agyemang.
