Asante Kotoko SC are in advanced talks with Berekum Chelsea coach Samuel Boadu to become their new head coach.
The negotiations come after the club parted ways with Prosper Narteh Ogum due to disappointing results, leaving Karim Zito in charge as interim head coach.
Boadu, 38, previously had a successful stint at Hearts of Oak, where he won the Ghana Premier League title in 2021 and back-to-back FA Cups, despite being dismissed last year after a poor start to the 2022/23 season.
Before that, he built a strong reputation with Medeama SC.
If successful, Boadu will take over the Kotoko job at the start of the 2025/26 season.
Boadu’s Berekum Chelsea will face Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup semi-finals this Sunday, potentially providing a glimpse of their future head coach’s tactics.
