Red-hot Kudus becomes first Ghanaian to score in 3 consecutive UCL games

In-form Ghana star Mohammed Kudus, Tuesday night, made a piece of Uefa Champions League history as Ajax endured a 6-1 hammering by Napoli.

No Ghanaian had scored three times in a row in the history of the topmost European club competition.

But Kudus achieved that feat with Ajax’s only goal in the shock loss at the Johan Cruyff ArenA.

The 22-year-old put the home side ahead in the ninth minute – after scoring against Rangers and Liverpool in the first two games in Group A.

But Napoli bounced back with first-half goals from Giacomo Raspadori, Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Piotr Zielinski.

Raspadori added his second two minutes after the restart and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added the fifth just after the hour.

Ajax’s night was made worse when captain Dusan Tadic was sent off after collecting a second yellow card and Giovanni Simeone closed out the win 9 minutes from time.

Mohammed Kudus has now scored 7 goals in as many games on the bounce for Ajax.

Napoli’s turnaround win means they stay perfect and top of Group A. Liverpool, who beat Rangers 2-0 are in second position while Ajax now sit third with three points. Rangers have lost all three games so far.
