Marco Asensio, a midfielder for Real Madrid, is reputedly valued at £35 million.
Despite his early potential at the Santiago Bernabeu, the playmaker has progressively been downgraded to a squad player rather than being a first-team regular.
Carlo Ancelotti favours other players, as shown by the fact that only 21 of his 39 appearances in La Liga and the Champions League came from the starting lineup last season.
With only a year left on his contract, there is still talk that the Spain international may be allowed to leave the club for the appropriate price.
According to AS, prospective teams have been told that signing Asensio this summer will cost £35 million.
Despite Liverpool having previously acquired Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez, the report suggests that the 26-year-old is high on Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist.
Asensio on his future:
“I am focused on the national team. When this concentration is over, we will talk. We will see what I will do with my future. Renew or leave Real Madrid? I think there are three possibilities, there is also the option to stay and fulfil my contract year.
“My future does not have to depend on whether or not I will have a place in the next World Cup. Rumours are part of football, and more so at Real Madrid. High-level players are always associated with it. Many players come out every summer and it’s something we have to live with.”
Asensio has contributed 49 goals and 24 assists from his 235 appearances for Real.
