Real Madrid could make France midfielders Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga available for transfer as they look to raise funds and create space for a potential move for Rodri from Manchester City.

The Spanish club are exploring ways to reshape their squad, with negotiations for Rodri understood to have stalled despite the player reaching a personal agreement. Real Madrid remain keen to sign the Manchester City midfielder as they seek to strengthen their team.

The possibility of selling either Tchouameni or Camavinga has emerged as part of that process. Both players are regarded as potential sources of income and could leave if Real Madrid decide they need to make room for Rodri’s arrival.

Real Madrid agree Diomande deal

Real Madrid have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for the signing of 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande.

The deal could be worth up to €140m (£120m), according to The Athletic, following lengthy negotiations between the clubs.

The move would represent one of the most significant additions to Real Madrid’s squad, while interest in Rodri and the possible departures of Tchouameni and Camavinga underline the scale of the club’s planned changes.

Liverpool are also active in the market and are exploring a move for 18-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye, the Paris Saint-Germain and Senegal winger, according to The Times.

The Premier League club are additionally considering a transfer for Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio. The 23-year-old has been told he can leave the Spanish club this summer, with Teamtalk reporting that Liverpool are interested.

Premier League clubs pursue defensive targets

Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid for Italy left-back Matteo Ruggeri, according to Marca. Ruggeri is 24.

Villa are also preparing for another offer from Arsenal for England defender Ezri Konsa. The club are attempting to secure Konsa’s future with a new contract, although Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for the 28-year-old, according to the Mail.

Fulham are nearing an agreement to sign Southampton and Northern Ireland midfielder Shea Charles. The 22-year-old is valued at £30m, reports Talksport.

In Germany, Hamburg are interested in bringing Leeds United defender Sebastiaan Bornauw back to the Bundesliga. The 27-year-old Belgium international is the subject of attention from the German club, according to Hamburger Abendblatt.

Elsewhere, Turkish club Trabzonspor are working on a move for Darwin Nunez. The 27-year-old Uruguay forward currently plays for Al-Hilal, and Trabzonspor hope to reunite him with his former Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah.

Salah, 34, is also being targeted as part of the Turkish club’s plans, with Spor Depor reporting the proposed reunion.

These are the latest transfer stories reported on 6 August 2026. They include developments around Real Madrid’s plans for Rodri, Liverpool’s interest in Mbaye and Asencio, and Aston Villa’s business involving Ruggeri and the possible departure of Konsa.
