Real Madrid is interested in Spanish-born Ghanaian youngster Nico Williams according to reports in Spain.
This season, the 20-year-old has been in excellent form in the Spanish Primera Division, scoring three goals and contributing three assists in 13 league games for the Basque club.
Nico’s performance this season has apparently attracted the attention of Premier League teams such as Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford, and Brighton.
Real Madrid has approached Bilbao over Nico’s availability next summer.
Williams scored his first two goals for the Lions on 6 January 2022, in a 2–0 win over Atlético Mancha Real in the campaign’s Copa del Rey. Seven days later, he scored the winning goal in a 2–1 victory over Atlético Madrid in the semi-final of the 2021–22 Supercopa de España.
On 20 January 2022, Williams was given a first team contract after meeting a number of clauses.
His current contract with Bilbao expires in June 2024, and his buy-out clause is estimated to be about €60 million.
