Ghana goalkeeper Razak Brimah has expressed his “surprise” of not handed a call-up in recent Black Stars invitations.
The 35-year-old last played for the national team five years ago at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon.
Brimah was in post for the Black Stars against Cote d’Ivoire in 2015 AFCON final as Ghana lost 11-10 on penalties to miss out on a fifth AFCON title.
According to him, his performances at the club level warrant him a place in the squad.
“I am surprised that I haven’t been getting the Black Stars call up because I believe I am doing well and people can testify to it”, he said in an interview.
Charlton Athletic new signing, Jojo Wollacott is the nation’s number one goalkeeper at the moment with Orlando Pirates’ Richard Ofori, Lawrence Ati-Zigi of St. Gallen and Eupen shot-stopper Manaf Nurudeen relegated to the bench.
Black Stars coach Otto Addo will send invitations to players in the next few weeks for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
