Ghanaian forward Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer continued his outstanding pre-season run by scoring once and setting up another goal in Mainz 05’s 3-3 friendly draw against Udinese at the Waldstadion in Austria.

The 24-year-old was again central to Mainz 05’s attacking efforts as the Bundesliga side continued their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign. His latest contribution means he has now scored five goals in five pre-season matches.

Konigsdorffer’s performance against the Italian side underlined the influence he has had during the build-up to the new season. As well as finding the net himself, he created one of Mainz 05’s other goals in an entertaining match that ended level at 3-3.

The German-born attacker has made an impressive start to his time with Mainz 05 and is building a strong case for a regular place in the team when the competitive Bundesliga campaign begins.

His form has given him added momentum after he received a late call-up to Ghana’s Black Stars squad earlier this year. Konigsdorffer was included for the international friendly matches against Austria and Germany in March 2026.

That international opportunity came only months before his productive pre-season with Mainz 05, where his goals and creative contribution have continued to attract attention. Five goals in five matches represents a consistent return as the club assesses its options before the start of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season.

The draw with Udinese was another chance for Konigsdorffer to demonstrate his attacking qualities, and he again delivered in both areas. His ability to score while also creating opportunities for team-mates has made him one of the notable performers in Mainz 05’s preparations.

With confidence increasing and his goals continuing to arrive, Konigsdorffer will now aim to transfer that pre-season form into the competitive campaign. He will also hope his performances strengthen his position within both the Mainz 05 squad and the Ghana national team.

For Mainz 05, the forward’s continued scoring run provides encouragement as preparations progress. For Konigsdorffer, the immediate challenge is to maintain the level he has shown in Austria and turn his promising pre-season into a regular role once the Bundesliga season begins.
