Rangers come to decision on future of Juventus’ Aaron Ramsey

The transfer team at Scottish giants Rangers have come to a decision on the future of loanee Aaron Ramsey beyond the summer, according to reports.

And the news will no doubt be met with disappointment on the part of those who were hopeful of the Welshman remaining with the club beyond the conclusion of the campaign.

As per reliable Italian journalist Giovanni Albanese (as cited by GIFN), it now appears extremely ‘unlikely’ that Ramsey will still be donning the blue of Rangers next season.

This comes with those in a position at Ibrox having been left increasingly concerned by the midfielder’s inability to stay fit.

Though he has largely impressed when on the pitch of late, Ramsey was forced to limp out of the Gers’ Scottish Cup showdown with Celtic on Sunday due to a fresh muscular problem, in the process killing off any remaining chance of an extended Ibrox stay.

This is of course so long as Juventus don’t simply come to the decision to terminate their struggling loan man’s contract in the summer, in which case Rangers could potentially take into consideration a free agent swoop.

Celtic downed

Though Ramsey himself was unable to make a telling impact owing to his latest fitness setback on Sunday, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s troops, as a collective, enjoyed an afternoon to remember.

This came as the Light Blues recovered from a goal down to eventually put Celtic to the sword by two goals to one.

Carl Starfelt’s own goal deep into extra time proved enough to guide Rangers beyond their Glaswegian neighbours, setting up a Scottish Cup finale clash with Hearts in a little over a month’s time.
