The Serbian takes his Black Stars to Bamako for the Group D clash on the back of an opening day win against Benin and says it will be Mali who will have to go all out for three points. “Mali can be a key match and I think that it will be a good game for us because they need to win which is a good psychological advantage for us. They are the ones playing at home, they are the ones who must deal with the pressure,” he told KickOffGhana.com.
Rajevac says he understands why many people consider Mali the biggest threat to another World Cup appearance for Ghana but says the Eagles must prove themselves as a team first.
“They are definitely good individuals and good players but it’s one thing being good individuals and another thing being a good team. I hope that we are going to play well as a team and achieve good results,” he said.
“Ghana and Mali have excellent individuals so it is quiet normal for everyone to think those two teams are main challengers for this first place which will mean also a place at the 2010 World Cup.
The Serbian is also confident in the long run it is Ghana that will qualify for the 2010 World Cup, not Mali.
“Ghana proved themselves so much at the World Cup and we have a chance to do it again and if we do that again we are going to leave a mark there.
“Everything is dependent on us. I think there is a really good chance. In the last World Cup, Ghana made a good impression and I am very sure that will happen again.”
