Prince Osei Owusu’s impressive form in Major League Soccer has finally earned him a long-awaited invitation to represent Ghana at the senior level.
The CF Montréal striker has been handed his first Black Stars call-up for the team’s upcoming friendlies against Japan and South Korea.
The 28-year-old forward, born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, has been on Otto Addo’s radar for some time thanks to his strong showings in the MLS.
Owusu has scored 13 goals and 3 assists in 34 league appearances.
Coach Otto Addo, who previously included the striker in Ghana’s standby list for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Comoros and the Central African Republic, believes this is the right moment to give him a closer look.
The Black Stars will first lock horns with Japan on November 14, 2025, at the Toyota Stadium in Aichi, before traveling to Seoul for another test against South Korea on November 18.
Both matches form part of Ghana’s broader build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
