Prince Amoako Junior says the presence of Michael Essien at FC Nordsjaelland has played a major role in shaping his rapid rise at the club.
The Ghanaian teenager has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign after earning promotion to the senior side at the start of the 2025/26 season.
His development has been closely supported by Essien, who serves on the club’s technical team and works directly with young players.
“He (Michael Essien) has been a very big part of my development because whatever I want to achieve, he has done that — to play at Real Madrid, to win the Champions League.” The 18-year-old told JoySports.
“He’s so down to earth. He loves to listen, loves to help and talk to you. It’s just amazing to be with someone who has achieved everything that you want to go out there and achieve.”
Amoako Junior explained that having daily access to such experience is invaluable for a young professional.
“You might as well take the best chance of it, talk to him and ask questions. He’s willing to help every time, so it means a lot to have someone like that every time.”
On the pitch, the winger has matched that guidance with numbers, finishing the first round of the Danish Superliga as Nordsjaelland’s leading contributor with five goals and four assists.
