Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter has claimed that Manchester City is the best team in the world.
The Seagulls held off City for a half but went down 3-0 at the Etihad on Wednesday; a result that saw the Pep Guardiola men reclaim their top spot where they are now a point above Liverpool.
“Clearly the best team won, we have to admit that. I can’t fault the boys for the effort they put into the game. It is rare you get to play against the best in your field and Manchester City is one of if not the best team in world football at the moment. You’d be a fool not learn from that experience,” Potter said after the match.

Speaking about the might of both City and Liverpool, Potter added: “Both teams have given so much to the Premier League, they have raised the level. They’re two of the best teams in my lifetime.
“To have those two competing at the top of the league, it’s inspiring to everyone and it shows how we can all improve. They’re two fantastic teams.”
