Cameroonian forward George Mfegue has expressed his excitement about playing for Asante Kotoko SC after parting ways with the club.
Mfegue was among the players released by Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum following the end of the 2023/24 season, leaving him without a club and awaiting new offers.
“Playing for Asante Kotoko is a very big excitement and it’s like playing for Real Madrid and I’m very happy for been with such a great Family for the past three seasons,” he told kickoffghana.com.
“Leaving the club is normal, because you know we are footballers and we play to make our own money and I will be excited to get another opportunity and play in Ghana but for now no offer has been presented so we wait to see what happen.”
The 27-year-old forward joined the Porcupine Warriors from Avion Academy in the 2021 season, featuring in 64 games, scoring 17 goals, and providing 16 assists in the Ghanaian top-flight campaign.
Mfegue is currently in the Volta Region of Ghana, spending holidays with former Kotoko player Moise Pouaty.
