Striker Francis Atuahene scored and provided an assist as Detroit City FC netted in the final 10 minutes beat New York Red Bulls II 2-0 on Saturday evening at Keyworth Stadium.
Rhys Williams found space on the right side to deliver a low cross to the top of the six-yard area where Atuahene put home a finish from close range at the second attempt.
In the final minute, Atuahene’s cross from the left was turned into his own goal by New York’s Lucas Monzon.
This sealed victory for the their fourth straight consecutive win for the hosts in the Eastern Conference.
Atuahene was named the Championship player of the match.
