The Black Queens of Ghana are gearing up for a four-nation tournament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) alongside Russia, Hong Kong, and Tanzania as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
This tournament will serve as a crucial warm-up for the Black Queens, who are looking to build momentum ahead of WAFCON.
The team, led by coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has been preparing intensively for the continental showpiece, which doubles as a qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
The Black Queens finished third in the previous WAFCON edition, defeating South Africa in the third-place playoff.
With their sights set on improving on that performance, the team will be looking to gain valuable experience and fine-tune their tactics during the UAE tournament.
