Phil Hay relays Leeds transfer update

Leeds United journalist Phil Hay has relayed an exciting claim from Jesse Marsch regarding the Yorkshire club’s plans for the remainder of the current summer transfer window.

What’s the news?

In a recent Twitter post, Hay relayed information shared by the Leeds boss after seeing his team secure a convincing 4-0 victory over Blackpool yesterday.

He said: “Marsch said Leeds are “actively hunting a striker”. After that, he thinks the incoming business for the summer will be pretty much done. #lufc

The Whites have already been rather busy behind the scenes in terms of securing deals to bring new players to the club this summer.

As things stand, Leeds have welcomed Brendan Aaronson, Luis Sinisterra, Tyler Adams, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Darko Gyabi to Elland Road.

Having sold Kalvin Phillips to fellow Premier League club Manchester City in a deal worth around £45m, this would have certainly helped Leeds in terms of being able to splash the cash on bringing new players in.

Leeds fans will be buzzing

Now that Marsch has revealed that the club are not yet done in terms of signing new players this summer and will be looking to bring a new striker in before the window closes, this should be very exciting for a lot of Leeds fans to hear.

Bearing in mind how the Whites only found the net 42 times in the Premier League last season compared to the season before that when they scored 62 goals in their 38 league games, it’s easy to see why Marsch wants to bring a new striker in.

Would you be happy to see Leeds sign a striker this summer?

Having had to play a significant number of league matches last season without Patrick Bamford, who has 19 goals in 47 top-flight appearances with Leeds, this may have made the need to add a new striker to the squad a priority for the Whites boss for the summer.

Moving forward, if the Yorkshire club can end their latest summer transfer window by adding a new striker to the squad, this would surely top off what has already been a very productive and impressive period for the Whites and make a lot of fans happy in the meantime.

It would also surely put the team in a good place to attack their next Premier League campaign and hopefully avoid another relegation battle.
