Paul Pogba seals switch return to Juventus; signs four-year contract

Breaking: Paul Pogba reportedly agrees 4-year deal with Juventus

France international star and former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly signed a four-year contract with Juventus, sealing his return to Serie A after six seasons away in Manchester.

That report comes from Get French Football citing Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, and the deal finally puts to rest the protracted exit by Pogba who has once again decided to swap England for Italy.

Pogba has already left Manchester United after letting his deal run down at Old Trafford, and will not be a part of the new regime under Dutch headmaster Erik ten Hag beginning in the upcoming 2o22-23 Premier League campaign.

Juventus currently have five midfielders on their books under Massimiliano Allegri at the Allianz Stadium going into the summer transfer window; Manuel Locatelli, Denis Zakaria, Arthur, Weston McKennie, and Adrien Rabiot.

Adding Pogba to the midfield ranks could be a bit of a transfer coup given the deal would be on a free, offering additional quality in the center of the park that could help Juventus wrestle back their dominant presence in the Serie A after both Inter and AC Milan have finished top of the Italian top flight, with Juventus finishing fourth on both occasions.

It was previously thought that Pogba could be holding out for a move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and the possibility of linking up with French legend Zinedine Zidane, and a deal with Juventus could come as a bit of a shock for some after Pogba himself recently stating he must do ‘what is best for him’ regarding his next port of call.

“I just want the best for me, I’m thinking like putting everything together. Take my time and I’m just looking for the best. I just want to play football, be myself always and enjoy what I do.”

The reported move for Pogba could signal the exit of United States international Weston McKennie as well, after Tottenham director of football Fabio Paratici and manager Antonio Conte was rumored to be interested in bringing the American midfielder in at Tottenham this summer.
