Paul Pogba breaks silence on Mino Raiola’s death

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has paid tribute to football super-agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola, who represented Pogba and a number of high profile players, passed away aged 54 on Saturday after a short illness; the Italian having engineered Pogba’s exit from United in 2012 and subsequent return four years later.

United paid a then world-record £89m transfer to Juventus for Pogba’s signature and the player took to Twitter to hail his representative with a video of images of his time with Raiola, accompanied with the caption: “Always in my heart. thank you Mimi.”

Earlier this week, Italian media had wrongly claimed the football broker had passed away, which was then reported by the world’s press.

Real Madrid even paid their condolences after the fake reports emerged, which Raiola was forced to deny from his hospital bed.

Raiola had been suffering from a lung condition, according to German outlet Bild, before his passing and was the agent looking after, Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland and the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Forbes estimates his personal fortune to be around £68million.
