The Serbian was given the shock sack by Hearts on Thursday after a 0-1 loss to nine-man King Faisal left them eight points clear at the top of the Glo Premier League.
A club statement said they had parted company with Papic by mutual consent but the former Orlando Pirates coach seemed to think otherwise.
“As of this moment I am no more coach of Hearts of Oak but you have to ask the managers of the club why. I have nothing to say,” he told KickOffGhana.com.
Hearts have been poor in the second half of the season and some club officials said they are only top because the other clubs have simply not been on top of their game.
It also appears his inability to blend many big name signings and unwillingness to take a chance on teenage prodigy Tawrick Jibril eventually cost him his job.
