An overnight downpour has caused flooding in parts of Sandema in Ghana’s Builsa North Municipality, disrupting movement and affecting several residents.
Heavy rainfall led to drains overflowing, sending water across sections of the Chuchuliga–Sandema road. The conditions have made it difficult for motorists and commuters to use the route, with travel disrupted in the affected areas.
The extent of the flooding has not yet been fully established. However, residents have reported impacts on some homes and properties and are assessing the damage caused by the overnight rain.
The flooding has also raised concerns about road conditions, particularly if further rainfall affects the area. Water already covering parts of the route could make movement more difficult and increase the risk of additional flooding.
Motorists and other road users have been urged to exercise caution when travelling through the affected sections of Sandema. Those using the Chuchuliga–Sandema road have been advised to remain alert because conditions could deteriorate if more rain falls.
