Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace have completed the signing of English-born Ghanaian midfielder Omari Jamian Kellyman from Chelsea FC, with the 20-year-old agreeing a contract that runs until 2031.
Kellyman is regarded as an attacking midfielder and joins the French club after spending the 2025-2026 season on loan at Cardiff City. His move to Strasbourg represents the latest step in a career that began at his hometown club, Derby County, before he moved to Aston Villa in 2022.
The England-born player spent 10 years at Derby County, where he developed before making the switch to Aston Villa. He made his professional debut for the Villans at the age of 17 in August 2023.
That first-team debut came in the UEFA Conference League against Hibernian, when Kellyman provided an assist. He went on to make six appearances for Aston Villa’s senior side, including two matches in the Premier League.
During his time with Aston Villa, Kellyman also represented the England U19 national team on seven occasions.
In the summer of 2024, Kellyman joined Chelsea FC. He was subsequently loaned to Cardiff City for the 2025-2026 season, gaining regular first-team experience with the Welsh club.
Kellyman made 42 appearances in all competitions for Cardiff City. Of those outings, 36 came in League One, where he scored 11 goals and supplied two assists.
He now leaves Chelsea FC to continue his development in France, having signed a contract with Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace that will keep him at the club until 2031.
The agreement confirms Strasbourg’s commitment to a player who has already experienced football in the Premier League, UEFA Conference League and League One despite being only 20 years old. Kellyman’s path from Derby County to Aston Villa, Chelsea FC and Cardiff City has included both senior club football and international experience with England U19 national team.
Strasbourg announced the transfer as the club’s latest addition, with Kellyman arriving after his season-long spell at Cardiff City. His record in Wales included 11 goals and two assists from 42 appearances in all competitions, including a substantial contribution across 36 League One matches.
The move also marks a new chapter for the English-born Ghanaian midfielder, who began his career in Derby before progressing through Aston Villa’s first team and later joining Chelsea FC. He will now continue his career with Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace under a deal lasting through 2031.
