OFFICIAL: Ghanian defender Emmanuel Akuoko retires from football

Ghanaian international, Emmanuel Akuoko has officially announced his retirement from football at the end of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

The veteran joined Aduana Stars in 2008 and committed the last 14 years of his career to the club.

Now 39-years-old, Emmanuel Akuoko has announced that he is retiring from football. Throughout his career, the defender established himself as a force to reckon with and was often called ‘Obubulebu’.

In an emotional retirement letter, the defender has expressed appreciation to Aduana Stars, managers he has worked work and players he had shared the dressing room with.

He retires a legend of Aduana Stars having helped the club to conquer the Ghana Premier League and also feature in multiple CAF inter-club competitions.
