Inter Milan’s signing of the goalkeeper Andre Onana has been officially announced.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper will reportedly sign a 5-year deal with the Italian side. The ex-Ajax keeper played a total of 214 games for the Dutch team and won 3 league titles, 2 KNVB cups and 1 Johan Cruyff Shield with them. He helped Ajax advance into the 2017-2018 season Europa league final and the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2019.
Unfortunately, the Cameroonian faced many difficulties throughout the past few seasons. UEFA imposed on him a 12-month ban due to allegations of doping. Afterwards, he was completely dropped by his former side until this summer, when his contract with Ajax will expire.
With Handanovic aging, Inter have been actively seeking a young replacement. Now, Onana will fight to save his career in Italy.
