Giorgio Chiellini has confirmed his move to Los Angeles FC through social media
The long-awaited announcement that Giorgio Chiellini is a Los Angeles FC player has come at last.
After leaving Juventus, the 37-year-old legendary defender signs with Los Angeles FC on a free transfer. He will join the club on July 1 2022, with a contract until December 2023.
It was reported that he met with LAFC officials in London after his international swansong for Italy in the 2022 Finalissima defeat to Argentina at Wembley on 1 June. And now the Californian outfit have confirmed that Chiellini has become the latest big name player to join MLS.
The addition of such an experienced defender will only serve to boost the Black and Gold’s hopes of success this year. They are already leading the MLS Western Conference by four points from second-placed Dallas FC.
