Coach Nora Häuptle has departed Ghana’s Black Queens and set to take over Zambia’s women’s national team.
According to reports, Häuptle will sign a two-year contract with Zambia, earning a monthly salary of $7,000.
Reports say Häuptle’s departure comes after failed negotiations with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to renew her contract.
The GFA offered Häuptle a $6,000 monthly salary, which was lower than her expected $12,000.
It is understood Häuptle is not content with GFA’s inability to support the team’s preparation for next year’s WAFCON, including the failure to secure $40,000 for friendly matches against Tunisia and Senegal.
The GFA must now find a replacement for Häuptle ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco in June 2025.
Hauptle qualified Ghana for the continental event after the nation missed out on the last two editions.
