‘No business starting for England’: Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale targeted after Hungary opener

Aaron Ramsdale has come in for heavy criticism on Tuesday evening during England’s clash with Hungary.

The Three Lions are playing out their final UEFA Nations League clash of the break and were well aware ahead of kick-off that a loss would put an end to their hopes of topping the group whilst also potentially taking them one step closer to relegation.

However, despite dominating the opening exchanges, England went 1-0 down after just 16 minutes:

A  number of players did not cover themselves in glory during the build-up to Hungary’s goal.

But it is goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale who has come in for the most criticism online, largely because he was beaten at his near post.

Of course, you could argue that the shot was too close to him and he could do little more than he did in such a short space of time, but many fans do not see it that way.

Just some of the reaction to Ramsdale’s attempt at a save for the Hungary opener can be seen below.
