Kasimpasa picked up an important away point in the Turkish Süper Lig on Sunday, thanks largely to a disciplined showing from Ghana’s Nicholas Opoku.
Tasked with operating at right-back instead of his usual central position, the defender adapted and delivered one of the day’s most assured performances.
In a cagey contest against Kocaelispor, Opoku kept his composure throughout the full 90 minutes, helping the visitors shut out their hosts in a match that offered few clear openings.
He handled the ball more than any Kasimpasa defender, finishing with 44 touches, and topped his side’s passing chart by completing 20 of 24 attempts.
He has already appeared in 14 of their 15 matches, starting every single one.
With his form steadily rising, the Black Stars technical team, led by Otto Addo, is keeping him firmly in consideration ahead of the 2026 World Cup build-up.
