Nations FC have been hit with disciplinary action after walking off during their final Ghana Premier League match against Basake Holy Stars, leading to the game’s abandonment.
A ruling by the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Osei Kwadwo Adow, Esq., held Nations FC responsible for halting the match, dismissing their counter-protest and citing breaches of league regulations.
Per Article 33(1)(b), the game has been awarded as a 3-0 victory to Basake Holy Stars. Nations FC also face a three-point deduction from their overall tally and a GH₵2,500 fine; half of which goes to Basake and the other half to the GFA.
The decision significantly affects the final league standings. Nations FC, who ended the season with a 2-0 loss, drop to fifth place with 57 points, while Bibiani GoldStars benefit from the fallout to secure the league title.
All affected parties have 24 hours from receipt of the decision to file an appeal.
