Nations FC chief executive Kennedy Boakye Ansah has urged the Black Stars handlers to hand Razak Simpson another opportunity with the national side ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The defender’s last appearance for Ghana came in May 2025 during the Unity Cup third-place playoff, where he netted his first international goal against Trinidad and Tobago.
Ansah believes the centre-back has done enough at club level to merit fresh consideration.
“Razak Simpson is a top player,” he told Citi Sports
“He has shown tremendous commitment, discipline and the zeal to give his all for the nation’s cause and the national team.
“Fortunately for us, last weekend, one of the newly appointed Black Stars coaches together with the team manager came to watch our game against All Blacks.”
“I’m pretty sure Razak was one of the reasons they came- not only to watch him but also to assess some of the other talents we have.”
“We know his quality, we know what he can deliver for the national team, and we know what he’s made of. He’s a very solid player who can compete at the highest level globally,”
Simpson continues to anchor Nations FC’s backline as they battle on two fronts this season.
The club remains in contention in the MTN FA Cup quarterfinals while also mounting a strong challenge in the Ghana Premier League in pursuit of a historic first major trophy.
