Naeem Mohammed: Swedish side Halmstads BK sign 23-goal Ghanaian striker

Swedish top-flight returnees Halmstads BK have announced the signing of Ghanaian striker Naeem Mohammed, the club announced Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old joins from Sandvikens IF where he scored 23 goals in 25 games in Ettan Norra last season.

Having run down his contract with the lower-tier club, Naeem signed a three-year contract with Halmstads, who finished second in the 2022 Supererttan and subsequently gained promotion back to the Allsvenskan in the coming year.

“Yes, if you have played in the First Division and get the chance in the Allsvenskan, it really is a dream come true,” Naeem who will be reuniting with his old coach Pelle Olsson told HP-sporten.

The ex-Tamale Utrecht Football Academy (TUFA) and Bolga All Stars (2018/19 GPL season) player scored 62 goals in 117 games for Sandviken during his four-year stay.

In the upcoming season, the HBK team will feature Naeem with compatriots Sadat Karim and Tom Boakye.
