NAC Breda technical director Peter Maas has outlined the thinking behind the club’s decision to sign Andre Ayew.
The 36-year-old agreed a short-term contract that runs until the end of the current season, with an option for an additional year.
Ayew joins the Dutch club after spending several months without a team following his departure from French side Le Havre last summer.
Maas believes the former Ghana captain’s mentality and experience will be vital as the club fights to stay in the Eredivisie.
“André is eager to help NAC in their fight for survival.”
“That’s become very clear from our conversations. We’re currently in a difficult position with NAC.”
“Ayew has also faced some tough times in his career. He’s a true sportsman who takes good care of himself.”
“We believe that with his experience and specific qualities, he can be of value to NAC right now.”
