My first goal for Crystal Palace against Wolves remains very important to me – Jordan Ayew

Ghana striker, Jordan Ayew has opened up on his early days at Crystal Palace after he signed from Swansea in 2018.

According to the experienced forward, scoring his first goal for the Eagles in the 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2019 did a lot for him in terms of settling into the new environment.

Speaking to the media team of Crystal Palace, Jordan Ayew said that goal to this day is one of the most important goals he’s scored in his career.

“I think it was just after New Year’s! I had family around at home and we had a nice evening and everything like that.

“Going into the game, I was like, ‘I’m going to go, but I’m not sure I’m going to play.’ Sometimes things happen… and I started that game and I scored. I think we won 2-0. It was a very important game as well for us, and a very important goal for me,” Jordan Ayew as said quoted on the website of Crystal Palace.

The Black Stars striker continued, “It was my first goal for the club, and it’s always important to score for a striker. I was kind of emotional because I was really in a dark period at that time. Scoring that goal was really important for me.”

Jordan Ayew is expected to feature for Crystal Palace on Sunday in the game against West Ham United in the English Premier League.
