West Ham United manager David Moyes expressed optimism to the media about the London club’s chances of qualifying for the Europa League semi-finals ahead of the quarter-final second leg against Olympique Lyonnais at Groupama Stadium.
“We don’t have a second chance, but a great opportunity. Moving after a 1-1 draw in the quarter-final first leg, I would have signed straight away. Going 1-1 in the first leg at this stage of the competition puts us in a very good position. We showed all our courage on the way. We played a half at ten, let’s see what we can do at eleven. We have to show our qualities even more. Lyon have a lot of them, but so do we. We’ve had some of our best games in this competition, especially against Sevilla away and at home. We will obviously have to play a great match, which will be complicated. This season we have been up to it against Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea. We answered present. Hopefully we can still do it”warned the Hammers technician.
For this meeting, West Ham United will be without Kurt Zouma, injured in the ankle, and Aaron Cresswell, suspended.
