Mother of ‘Catch Them Young’ referee storms match venue to support daughter

Parents are beginning to show interest in the Catch Them Young Refereeing Policy being implemented by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The programme initiated by Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku is to train children whose dreams are to become referees in the future.

Over the weekend, a mother who is proud of her daughter stormed the Mankessim Astro Turf to watch her 15-year-old daughter officiate the Women’s Division One League match between Mfanteman Royal Ladies FC vs Assin Soccer Angels Ladies FC.

Mrs. Hannah Ofori who is excited her daughter is already playing a key role in women’s football in the country took time to take a precious picture with her teenage daughter as well.

“Proud of moment for Mrs Hannah Ofori as she watches her 15-year old daughter Augustina Ofori officiate a Women’s Division One League match between Mfanteman Royal Ladies FC vs Assin Soccer Angels Ladies FC at the Mankessim Astro Turf,” the Ghana FA reported.

It is the hope of the Ghana FA that through the Catch Them Young Refereeing Policy Ghana will have countless FIFA referees very soon.
