Mohammed Salisu lauds AS Monaco teammates for fighting to beat RC Lens

Ghana defender, Mohammed Salisu attributed AS Monaco’s recent victory in the French Ligue 1 to the team’s relentless determination on the field.

Following Monaco’s hard-fought 3-2 triumph over RC Lens on their opponents’ turf, Salisu expressed his thoughts in a post-game interview with Monaco’s official media.

Salisu, who played the entire match, witnessed Monaco clinch the victory with an injury-time goal from Takumi Minamino.

Reflecting on the intense encounter, Salisu remarked, “It was not an easy match. Despite the challenges, we secured these three points by fighting relentlessly on the pitch. It’s quite a feat to score three goals here at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.”

He added, “In the end, securing this important victory is fantastic for the team!” Salisu’s standout performances for Monaco come on the heels of a disappointing outing with the Ghanaian national team, the Black Stars, at the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

Looking ahead, Salisu and Monaco are set to face league leaders PSG on Friday, March 1 at 20:00 GMT.

Meanwhile, Salisu’s Black Stars teammate, Abdul Salis Samed, remained an unused substitute for Lens in the encounter.
