Trabzonspor have officially completed the signing of Egypt captain Mohamed Salah on a free transfer, bringing an end to one of the most closely watched stories of the summer transfer window.

The Turkish club announced the move on its official social media accounts, publishing a video showing Salah wearing Trabzonspor’s burgundy-and-blue shirt for the first time. The post was introduced with the message: “In the burgundy and blue shirt for the first time in front of the cameras… and his first message to Trabzonspor’s great supporters.”

Salah addressed the club’s fans directly in the video, saying: “To the Trabzonspor fans, are you ready? See you soon.”

He also added the Turkish phrase: “Bize Her Yer Trabzon”.

The expression is a famous slogan among Trabzonspor supporters. Its literal meaning is “Everywhere is Trabzon for us”, expressing the belief that the club’s fans regard themselves as being at home wherever they go. It is also used to convey their sense of loyalty, pride and belonging to Trabzonspor.

The announcement follows several days of rapid developments surrounding the transfer. Trabzonspor initially confirmed that it had opened official negotiations with Salah before later announcing when the player would arrive in Turkey. He then underwent a medical and completed the formal procedures required before the deal was officially confirmed.

Salah’s move brings to a close a prolonged period of speculation over his next destination. The Egypt forward had been linked with several clubs in recent weeks, including Turkish side Besiktas and Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

There was also reported interest from Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Ittihad and Al-Diriyah, as well as from teams in Major League Soccer in the United States.

Despite those links, Salah has chosen to remain in European football by joining Trabzonspor. The Turkish club will rely on his extensive experience to help lead the team in domestic and continental competition during the new season.

The transfer represents a new chapter in the career of one of the most significant players in the history of Egyptian football. Salah’s move follows the end of his historic nine-year spell with Liverpool, during which he won a number of major honours.

His achievements with the English club included the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. He also established a long list of individual records and personal achievements during his time at Anfield.

Salah will now continue his career with Trabzonspor, taking on a new challenge in Turkey after his highly successful period with Liverpool. The club’s supporters have already received their first public message from their latest signing, who ended the video by asking whether they were ready to see him begin his Trabzonspor journey.
