There had been reports that the Dutchman would pick former England manager and Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant, Steve McClaren, as part of his new backroom staff but that wont happen with ten Hag calling him to inform him about the same.
The official announcement of the Dutchman is expected to happen this week with the final details of the deal set to be finalized in the next hours.
Ten Hag will be coming to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a permanent basis with current manager Ralf Rangnick set to be handed a new role at the club; the Dutchman is expected to be handed a four-year deal.
