Sports Ministry denies owing Black Stars coach Otto Addo three-month salary

The Executive Assistant at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Jamaludeen Abdullah has denied reports that Black Stars coach Otto Addo and his technical team are owed three months’ salary.

Jamal comments come after a report by Kesseben FM alleged that Otto Addo and his entire technical team are owed three months’ salaries.

The team was unsuccessful in their attempt to qualify the Black Stars for next year’s AFCON for the first time since 2004.

“As far as I’m concerned, the Ministry of Youth and Sports does not owe Otto Addo any salary,” Jamal told GhanaWeb.

“His salaries have been paid and we don’t have any official complaints from him or the FA to the effect that he has not been paid.

Addo’s future with the Black Stars is uncertain after winning no game and earning just three points in six matches of the Afcon qualifiers.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council is set to meet on November 27 to discuss Addo’s future with the team.
