The defender who is expected to captain Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola limped off from Sunderland’s 1-1 draw at home to Everton and is unlikely to be available for game against Blackburn on Monday.
With a lot of key players already ruled out from the tournament through injury, Rajevac says he will need his captain in the best shape for the tournament .
“I am worried because Mensah is one of our most important players. He will have test on Mondays and then we will see,” Rajevac told KickOffGhana.com.
“I spoke to him after the Everton game and he said he had to come off as a pre-caution. I hope it is nothing serious.”
