Medeama SC aim to maintain their stranglehold atop the Ghana Premier League when they host Young Apostles on Sunday at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium, kicking off the second half of the 2025/26 season.
The league leaders come into the clash brimming with confidence after a 1–0 win over Hearts of Oak last weekend, a result that extended their unbeaten league run to 14 matches (W7, D7) and opened a two-point gap at the summit.
Medeama have combined attacking flair with defensive solidity, scoring 22 goals—the second-highest in the league—while conceding just 10.
At home, the Mauve and Yellow have been nearly unstoppable, winning six and drawing three of nine matches at the TnA Stadium, netting 14 goals and conceding only five. Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side will be keen to maintain their perfect home record as they chase a second Premier League title.
Young Apostles, in contrast, are struggling for form. The Wenchi-based side have just one win in their last nine league outings (D4, L4), sliding to 10th place with 21 points.
Their away record is equally troubling—one win, three draws, and five defeats in nine matches, scoring just three goals while conceding nine.
Sunday’s match promises a clash of momentum versus resilience, as Medeama look to assert their dominance and Young Apostles seek a rare win on the road.
