Mauro Icardi has revealed he is staying at Paris Saint-Germain next season and issued a passionate defence of his career after Italian media claimed it is under threat.
Icardi took to his Instagram story to address an article in Gazzetta dello Sport discussing his future at the French champions.
“My career’s under threat?” he wrote.
“I still have two years left on my PSG contract. It doesn’t seem to be unlike what has been written.
“Don’t worry, I’m still 29 and people know who I am after scoring almost 200 goals. And now I’ve decided to stay here and make myself available.”
Icardi has 38 goals and 10 assists in his 92 games for PSG since making a move from Serie A. He is under contract with the French club until 2024.
