The context of Spain – Costa Rica

Eliminated in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup, Spain hopes to do better this year, with Luis Enrique at its head. La Roja would also be well advised to win in their first match, against Costa Rica, a priori the most affordable opponent in group E. From the second match, Spain will face the other cador of the group, Germany, in a duel that promises to be heated. For its part, Costa Rica will try to defend its skin dearly, in a very tough group for them and whose most affordable opponent seems to be Japan.

The official line-ups of Spain – Costa Rica

While José Gaya had to forfeit, and Barcelona player Alejandro Baldé replaced him, it is the 30-year-old Jordi Alba who should start on the left of the defense. In goal, Unai Simon is expected to start, as is Alvaro Morata in attack, alongside Barcelona’s Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres. The midfielder will be entirely Catalan, with Pedri, Sergio Busquets and Gavi.

On the Costa Rican side, the Parisian Keylor Navas should start the meeting.

The official lineup of Spain

The official line-up of Costa Rica
