Mason Mount opens up on new era at Chelsea

Mason Mount has been speaking about the new era beginning at Chelsea Football Club.

After nearly two decades at the club, Roman Abramovich sold Chelsea to Todd Boehly last month and a new era has begun in west London.

Boehly has taken over at a time when Chelsea are still chasing Liverpool and Manchester City.

The Blues also have some work to do in the transfer market this summer after they lost two of their best central defenders on free transfers and also let Romelu Lukaku return to Inter Milan on a season-long loan.

So far, Chelsea have been linked with plenty of names but remain the only top-six side yet to make a single signing this summer.

And whilst this may concern some of the Chelsea faithful, Mason Mount appears ready to hit the ground running in the next campaign.

Speaking to the Evening Standard about the changes at Chelsea, Mount had this to say:

“It is a new era, so we all feel very excited and, whenever a new season comes around, you are excited about what’s possible,” Mount stated. “I can’t wait to see what happens.”

“We’ve had a break now but we’ll see and we hope it is going to be a good year,” says Mount. “I am feeling rested and ready to go.”

Chelsea will kick off their 2022/23 campaign away to Everton on August 6th.
