Egyptian football star Omar Marmoush is brimming with confidence, predicting that Egypt will not only win the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) but also go on to claim the FIFA World Cup title.
Speaking to Manchester City’s official website, Marmoush expressed his unwavering faith in the Egyptian national team’s abilities, stating, “We’ll win the African Cup of Nations, of course, and then we’ll win the World Cup. With the players, team, quality we have, and as the Egyptian national team, we’re the best team in Africa.”
Marmoush’s bold claims are backed by Egypt’s impressive performances in the AFCON and in recent years, including their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Pharaohs have a rich history in AFCON, having won the tournament a record seven times, most recently in 2010.
