Manuel Neuer has extended his contract for another year, keeping him at the Allianz Arena until 2024.
Neuer defied his age with another excellent season in goal for Die Roten in 2021/22, making a number of signature spectacular saves and maintaining 14 clean sheets across all competitions.
The Germany international’s contract was set to end in June 2023, but with this extension, he will be with Bayern for at least another two years.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Neuer said: “I’m very pleased that my journey continues at FC Bayern. We’ll have a very good team again with which we can play for every title.
“As a goalkeeper, captain and leader, I want to be the support and a key factor in our big goals. We want to extend our title record and compete again for the DFB Cup and Champions League.”
Neuer joined Bayern Munich from Schalke in 2011 and has since won a slew of awards, including 10 Bundesliga championships and two Champions League wins.
Another league triumph came at the conclusion of 2021/22, a season in which Neuer broke the Bundesliga record for most victories, surpassing fellow goalkeeper and Bayern great Oliver Kahn’s previous mark.
