Manchester United sealed the future of Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday. The Portuguese striker will no longer wear the jersey of the Mancunian club, a decision which will not be without consequences for the Red Devils.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving Manchester United by mutual agreement and with immediate effect. The club thanks him for his immense contribution during two spells at Old Trafford.” It is with this laconic press release that Manchester United ended its relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo, with whom the break had become inevitable following the multiple declarations of the Portuguese striker, in particular very critical of his coach Erik ten Hag and the evolution negative from the English club. This departure of the 37-year-old star, who returned to Old Trafford in August 2021 for a transfer of 17 million euros, will not be without consequences for the Red Devils.

From a financial point of view, this divorce from the native of Funchal – only 5 goals in 21 games in all competitions in 2022-2023 – will save Manchester United a nice sum of money.
