Manchester United player’s reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo missing pre-season training has been revealed.
Over the last week or so it has been made clear that Cristiano Ronaldo is eyeing a Manchester United exit.
The Red Devils’ failure to secure Champions League football last season, along with United’s floundering in the transfer market, is said to have led to Ronaldo wanting to leave the club.
The striker did not return for pre-season training on Monday when he was expected to, with family reasons cited as to why.

And then, on Thursday, it was reported that Ronaldo had been given permission to miss Manchester United’s pre-season tour, which kicks off on Tuesday afternoon with a clash vs bitter rivals, Liverpool.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has shed some light on to the reaction of the United players regarding Ronaldo’s actions.
CR7 was United’s top scorer last term by some distance and losing him, if they do not bring in another striker, would be a big blow.
However, it appears as though the mood in the United camp is still positive, with players just surprised by the Portuguese’s absence:
“Despite the Cristiano Ronaldo situation being far from ideal, there is a great feeling about Erik ten Hag’s methods inside the Manchester United dressing room so far,” Romano wrote.
“The players are satisfied and feel a clear change from the last few years as the new manager implements his philosophy during pre-season training.
“Now there is waiting feeling to understand the next signings, while the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo is clearly a surprise for everyone, but the players themselves are waiting to understand the final decision of the Portuguese: they really don’t know what’s going to happen.
“It’s not an easy situation for any manager to deal with, but the mood is good, and a lot of that is down to the positive environment being set up by Ten Hag.”
